Dog Urine Marking Training
Introduction
There are ways to help solve the problem of urine marking with dogs.
One of the main things you can do to help stop your dog from urine marking is to get the dog neutered. Neutering the dog will help to lower some of the male traits that are instilled in the dog. Some of these traits involve territorial actions or wanting a female's attention. Getting a male dog neutered will not necessarily fend off all urges to be by a female in heat, but may reduce the amount of urine marking they do.
A reward system or firmly saying no may help to reduce the urine marking and eventually get rid of the potential problem. Showing the dog what you expect from the dog is a good way to show what the dog is doing right or wrong.
Making the dog feel secure after another animal is inside the house is a good way to show that the dog can be okay in the area. This can be done by simply talking in a soft tone to the dog, spending time with the dog and showing the dog more attention when the animal has left.
